APEXblog.nl - Tips and Tricks

About This Blog:
I (Richard Weug) started this blog primary for myself to save all kinds of Apex tips and tricks in one place. To use it as a place to write down how I used some coding in my own projects, but also to copy and paste all kinds of articles I find on the Internet. (So I never have to wonder on what website did I read about??? When I see something interesting I collect the content so I have my own archive/knowlegde base.

Multiple APEX listeners, one Application Server using Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS)

Written by Richard Weug on Friday, 15 August 2014 23:08. Posted in Installation

Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS) gives us the capability us to deploy multiple versions of the APEX listeners to a single Glassfish instance.  This is great for centralizing resources on a single server in our non-production environments.  This short post will show you how quick and painless it is to setup.

Show table comments in SQL developer

Written by Richard Weug on Monday, 11 June 2012 08:52. Posted in Installation

My default development client is the Oracle SQL Developer. If I compare it with TOAD it is slim, free to use and includes a table modeling area.
One thing I don't like is the ability to see table comments. To find this information you need to click on the table inside the table view ("Connections" > #MY_CON2# > Tables), then on tab: "Details", scroll to column "Comments" and finally double click on the comment field to see all details.

Apex and HTTPS

Adding HTTPS to Oracle Application Express on Oracle 10g Express

CentOS 5.x
Oracle 10g Express
APEX 3.x upgrade
Apache 2.x

If you are running APEX on Oracle 10g Express, you do not have access to the Wallet Manager per the OTN agreement.

Jasper Reports Documentation

many of you might be using Jasper Reports for designing your reports with Oracle APEX. The documentation provided by Jasper Soft had to be paid for.

I have just noticed that the Ultimate Guide is now available for free! So check it out: https://www.jaspersoft.com/store/jasperreports-ultimate-guide-documentation

It is not based on the latest version of Jasper Reports but nevertheless useful.
