APEXblog.nl - Tips and Tricks

About This Blog:
I (Richard Weug) started this blog primary for myself to save all kinds of Apex tips and tricks in one place. To use it as a place to write down how I used some coding in my own projects, but also to copy and paste all kinds of articles I find on the Internet. (So I never have to wonder on what website did I read about??? When I see something interesting I collect the content so I have my own archive/knowlegde base.

Low cost APEX reporting tool (Excel)

Written by Richard Weug on Friday, 12 April 2013 09:31. Posted in Tips and Tricks

Plug-in uses the source queries of all report regions on a page (standard or interactive) to fetch and convert data to temporary XML with DBMS_XMLGEN package. Plug-in then applies on temporary XML one or two XSLT transformation with XSLT processor implemented as DBMS_XSLPROCESSOR package. If we can’t build desired output just with XSLT final conversions can be made with ConverBlob procedure. Plug-in then starts download of transformed output. XSLT transformations must be previously uploaded in APEX application as static files.

Execute Dynamic Action From Report Column Link

In my previous post I showed how a dynamic action can be executed by using $event.trigger(<name>).  Using the same call we can execute a dynamic action from a column link in a report.  Not only can the dynamic action be executed but a value can also be passed to the dynamic action.
